Web, Photojournalism & Multimedia

This year, the Hi’s Eye has a completely revamped website, switching from a simple website program to a far more sophisticated and professional one. The site does not only contain every Hi’s Eye story as well as mini profiles on each staff member, but also slideshows, videos, and podcasts that the staff has created. Below I have posted the link to the new website.

At the Hi’s Eye, we take pride in taking nearly all of our own photos. Of course, occasionally we need a picture of an NFL player or celebrity that we cannot take ourselves, but we like to publish our own independent work-- photos included. Here you can see a few of the photos I have taken for different Hi’s Eye stories.

Teen activist Samantha Miele poses with her homemade jacket she made to combat rape and sexual assault in teens.

Teacher-student duo Alex Fonseca and mother Sra. Garcia have mastered the interesting dynamic that comes with attending the same school.

While I consider myself versatile in many aspects of journalism, multimedia is a field that I do not have very much experience in. However, I look forward to trying new things in the realm of 21st century journalism--podcasts, videos, etc.--in my remaining time in high school as well as at the collegiate level. I did, however, produce a slideshow story about an exemplary Westfield High School girls cross country performance at the Stewart Memorial Cross Country Meet in 2016. I have posted the link to this slideshow below.
